When Does the Main Tournament Take Place?
The Galactic Championship main tournament is split across all two days of the event: Saturday is Day 1 of the tournament and Sunday is Day 2.
If you earned enough Qualifier Points from other Star Wars: Unlimited events throughout the season, then your Galactic Championship tournament starts on Saturday. For all other players, Friday is where the battle begins with the Last Chance Qualifier—more information on that below!
The first round of Day 1 of the Galactic Championship tournament begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 25th. The day plays out over 8 Swiss rounds, finishing up around 8:30 PM (with a break for lunch partway through the day). The first 3 rounds of the day will utilize the draft format. After these rounds have concluded, the remaining 5 rounds will utilize the Premier format. If you manage to win at least 18 of the possible 24 match points across these 8 rounds, you’ll advance to Day 2! If not, then you’ll be eliminated from the tournament, which means you can spend the rest of the weekend participating in side events, engaging in bonus experiences, and other fun activities.
On Day 2, the first round also starts at 9:00 AM. There will be an additional 5 Swiss rounds: 3 rounds utilizing the draft format, and 2 rounds utilizing the Premier format. At the end of these Swiss rounds, the tournament cuts to a Top 8 bracket based on everyone’s records. The elimination rounds start in the afternoon, with the tournament wrapping up around 6:30 PM, when we crown the Galactic Champion!
What Prizes Can I Win from the Main Tournament?
You can earn all sorts of awesome prizes based off the match points you earn throughout each day of the tournament. You’ll also earn prize tickets for the prize wall based on your score for the day.
On Day 2, you’ll earn prizes based on your final placement in the tournament, with unique prizes starting at the Top 64 and moving up from there.
For a full breakdown of the prizes you can earn—and how well you need to do to earn them—check out our official Prizes & Prize Wall page.
What is the Last Chance Qualifier, and How Do I Participate?
The Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) is, just like it sounds, a final chance to qualify for the main Galactic Championship tournament. The LCQ begins on Friday, July 24th at 9:00 AM. It consists of 8 Swiss rounds using the Premier format. At the end of the day, anyone who wins at least 21 match points of the possible 24 will qualify for Day 1 of the main Galactic Championship tournament!
You can register for the Last Chance Qualifier here. Please note that you will need an event badge to participate.
What is the Galactic Open, and When Does It Take Place?
The Galactic Open is a side tournament that takes place during the Galactic Championship event. If the Galactic Championship main tournament is considered the final tournament of Season One of Star Wars: Unlimited Organized Play, then the Galactic Open can be considered the first tournament of Season Two!
This is an open event in which anyone of eligible age (13+) can participate. The Galactic Open utilizes the Premier format with best-of-three rounds. Registration for the Galactic Open begins at 9:00 PM on Friday, July 24, after the conclusion of the Last Chance Qualifier. Once open, you can register for the tournament here.
The Galactic Open takes place over two days. Day 1 starts at 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, and consists of 8 Swiss rounds, concluding around 8:30 PM that evening. If you earn at least 18 match points throughout those 8 rounds, then you advance to Day 2.
Day 2 begins at 9:00 AM on Sunday. Your record carries over from Day 1, and after 3 more rounds of Swiss, there will be a cut to the Top 8. By just after 5 PM, we’ll have crowned a Galactic Open champion!
What Prizes Can I Win from the Galactic Open?
There are two things you can earn in the Galactic Open: prize wall tickets, and qualifier points towards the 2027 Galactic Championship event. The exact amount of each that you earn will depend on your final placement, so be sure to give it your all!
What are the Eternal Opens and When Do They Take Place?
The Eternal Opens are a pair of additional side tournaments that take place during the Galactic Championship event, and similar to the Galactic Open, anyone of eligible age (13+) can participate. Unlike the main tournament or the Galactic Open, the Eternal Opens are single-day tournaments, and both of them take place on Sunday, July 26, starting at 9:00 AM.
Each tournament consists of 7 Swiss rounds using best-of-three matches. There is no top cut in the Eternal Opens, so at the end of those seven rounds, whoever is ranked highest will be the champion!
What Prizes Can I Win from the Eternal Opens?
Just like the Galactic Open, there are two things you can earn in the Eternal Opens: prize wall tickets, and qualifier points towards the 2027 Galactic Championship event. The exact amount of each that you earn will depend on your final placement, so be sure to give it your all!
How Do I Redeem My Prize Tickets?
There are two prize walls on the Galactic Championship site: one near the “on demand” side events area, and one near the scheduled side events area. Both prize walls will have the same contents, so you can snag whatever swag you’re hunting from either one while supplies last.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Prize wall tickets are represented by actual physical tickets. Make sure to keep track of the tickets you earn and take care not to lose them!
